OCIA – Becoming Catholic

Picture
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
The OCIA, formerly known as the RCIA, is a process developed by the Catholic Church for adults who are considering converting to Catholicism. This journey offers a gradual introduction to the beliefs and practices of the Catholic faith.
Who should consider OCIA? The OCIA is designed for adults who are

  • Curious About the Catholic Church: Interested in learning more about Catholic teachings and traditions.
  • Unbaptized: Seeking Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist, or those searching for deeper spirituality.
  • Baptized in Another Christian Tradition: Looking to join the Catholic Church or those who have never received formal religious education or completed the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
  • Married to a Catholic: Attending Mass with your Catholic spouse and wishing to share in their faith.
  • Seeking Spiritual Fulfillment: Feeling a call to explore something deeper in your life, even if you're unsure what that is.
If any of these descriptions resonate with you, we warmly invite you to consider joining the OCIA program here at St. Padre Pio Parish.
