This week we celebrate Pentecost Sunday.
Readings are available on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops website: www.usccb.org Mass intentions are listed in the bulletin. Here are some interesting perspectives on the meaning and the history of this celebration: What is Pentecost? Meaning of Pentecost Sunday What Really Happened on the Day of Pentecost The picture is another of the fantastic stained-glass windows here at the Church of St. Hilary. It is the arched window on the north side of the nave, second from the sanctuary. It depicts the Descent of the Holy Spirit. All the windows here are from the Franz Xaver Zettler stained-glass studio in Munich, Germany. A little research turns up Zettler installations all over Europe and the United States but, surprisingly, no mention of the Church of St. Hilary even though the collection is, clearly, a major work.
