This week we celebrate the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
The picture is of the spectacular Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica. If you've never visited this fantastic part of the Archdiocese of Chicago, you might want to plan a trip to the west side. The basilica is also the home of the National Shrine of Saint Peregrine. There are two other basilicas in the archdiocese, St. Hyacinth and Queen of All Saints, both quite beautiful, but this one will leave you breathless. It is located at 3121 West Jackson Boulevard and you may check out their website for more information. ols-chicago.org
Please take a look at The Ultimate Guide to Ordinary Time to learn more about the structure of the Liturgical Year.
Readings are available on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops website; www.usccb.org
On Saturday, July 10, the 5PM English and 7PM Spanish Masses will be live streamed on YouTube. You may access the live stream by clicking on the YouTube logo under “CONNECT WITH US” at the bottom of the website frontpage. These Masses will be available for future viewing as recordings by clicking the same YouTube link.
The Archdiocese encourages getting vaccinated. "A Catholic can, in good conscience, receive the COVID-19 vaccines, as declared by our Holy Father and evidenced by Cardinal Cupich’s own vaccination. Receiving the COVID-19 vaccine should be understood as an act of love of our neighbor and part of our moral responsibility for the common good."
